Pioneering the Future: INVITAIC’s Flexible Solar Modules

In an exciting breakthrough, Eric, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at INVITAIC, and his team have unveiled a cutting-edge solution for clean energy generation – flexible solar modules. Drawing inspiration from recent advancements, Eric’s team has successfully engineered these modules using Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) as the front cover, demonstrating remarkable promise for the future of solar energy.

 

Flexible solar modules are poised to revolutionize the renewable energy landscape, offering incredible adaptability and reliability. The innovative use of PET films, a key feature inspired by their exceptional electrical insulation and optical transmittance properties, has led to the creation of a game-changing energy solution.

 

Constructed with 156 mm² × 156 mm² c-Si polycrystalline aluminum back surface field (Al-BSF) structured solar cells, these modules boast a slim profile with a thickness of approximately 250 μm. Their module structure comprises a PET/EVA/c-Si cell/EVA/PET or Backsheet, combining flexibility with dependability.

 

A standout advantage of these flexible solar modules is their reduced weight, significantly lowering transportation and installation costs. With a weight reduction of around one-fourth per cell size compared to traditional glass-based modules, these innovations offer a cost-effective solution for installations in weight-restricted environments.

 

Additionally, these modules excel in durability tests, surpassing traditional glass-based panels in high-temperature and high-humidity conditions. Eric and his team subjected the modules to damp heat (DH) tests at 85 C and under 85% relative humidity, revealing a mere 10% degradation from the initial values after 6000 hours of testing.

 

With their impact-absorbing capabilities, these flexible solar modules are ideal for diverse applications, ranging from factory roofs to agricultural settings. Their potential to reduce installation costs while offering eco-friendly energy solutions makes them a compelling choice for the future.
